QUATRO RANCHOS PRESERVE
We have a complete Rainforest / Mountain self guided trail
system. Our Bosque Puro Trail takes you up 1000 vertical
feet to the top of the coastal mountains - and into a 10
month-a-year cloud forest. The views are spectacular. The
Catarata Trail leads to 2 much different waterfalls and is
home to exotic birds and butterflies. Two other trails take you
sounds - and vistas of rainforested mountainsides, pristine
coast & blue ocean.
Common sightings at Rancho Pacifico include 3 types of
monkeys, sloths, jaguarundis, anteaters, tree frogs, and more.
Witness hundreds of bird species and regularly enjoy
closeups of toucans, kites, eagles, parakeets and parrots in
the wild. Watch whales right from the clubhouse spotting
scopes.
Our Private Preserve brings Nature to your Door....
No single area of Costa Rica has this variety of natural wonders so closeby. Not Monteverde, not Manuel Antonio, not Corcovado. The 250+ acre Rainforest preserve of which we are part (the Osa Highlands), is home to scores of mammals, reptiles & amphibians. Sightings are commonplace, and we have personally witnessed rare sightings for panther, ocelot, tapir and anteaters. This is an unspoiled, mountainous area with distinct climate zones; the perfect home for a large variety of wildlife within a relatively small area.
You are invited to explore this rugged area on horseback or foot. In addition, spectacular wildlife viewing is available on our half-day "National Geographic Tour", a boat excursion to a remote part of the Osa Peninsula via the Sierpe River.

"we saw a lot more wildlife than we
expected - the toucans and monkeys
really are out the front door...but for us
watching eagles soaring over the pool
with an occasional flock of parrots
buzzing through was unforgettable."
