NATURE AND PRIVATE
RAINFOREST PRESERVE
Guests viewing a family of white
faced monkeys from the clubhouse
"we saw a lot more wildlife
than we expected - the
toucans and monkeys really
are out the front door...but for
us watching eagles soaring
over the pool with an
occasional flock of parrots
buzzing through was
unforgettable."

Our private preserve brings nature to your door....
No other area of Costa Rica surpasses the diversity and
pristine nature you'll find here and closeby. Not
Monteverde, not Manuel Antonio, not Osa. The 250+ acre
Rainforest preserve of which we are part, is home to
scores of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, centuries-old
trees and over 300 bird species. Sightings are
commonplace, and we have personally witnessed rare
sightings for Panther, Ocelot,Tapir, Trogans and Anteaters.
This is an unspoiled, mountainous area with distinct climate
zones; the perfect home for a large variety of wildlife
within a relatively small area. You are invited to explore
this rugged area on horseback or foot. In addition,
spectacular wildlife viewing is available on our half-day
"National Geographic Tour", a boat excursion to the Osa
Peninsula via the Sierpe River.
Local wildlife abounds. Common sightings at Rancho
Pacifico include 3 types of monkeys, trogans, sloths,
jaguarundis, anteaters, tree frogs, and more. Witness
hundreds of bird species and regularly enjoy closeups of
toucans, kites, eagles, parakeets and parrots in the wild.
Watch whales right from the clubhouse spotting scopes.
